Open channel registration and new poll!
The results are in for the open channel registrations! In a slight drift, it was voted yes to open registration up to the general user base on the network!
What does this mean for you?
-No longer a wait time in #support to have the channel registered.
-Can register channels freely.
Great, sounds fun and all, how do I get to use this? First off, you need an account with NickServ. If you haven't done so yet, you can create one by typing /ns reg username password email@here. Check your email for the confirm. If you already have an account on the network, you can simply /join #the-channel. Once joined, you can do /cs reg #the-channel and it is yours! Just be sure that you have @op in the channel, otherwise you won't be able to register it. :D
In other news, there is a new poll up! Who would you like to have interviewed next on SGWirc? Select from one of the choices on the right of SGWirc.com. :):up:

SGW Closed Beta To Start October 15th.

The developers here are very excited to start this next stage in their developmental process with you all! Currently, we are working on implementing beta selection criteria and will be sending beta keys to those that we would like to join us! Not all invites will be sent out before the 15th - this will be a gradual process after the date. Just stay tuned on the forums for changes to the beta registration process. All community members will be given a fair shot, don't worry!
What do you expect to see in Closed Beta?
- You will be able to play in the Stargate Command (SGC)!
- Female characters will be playable

Server Updates Coming Sept. 30.
Hello all, on September 30th we will be performing IRCd server updates. We will have two servers for you to connect to during this down time. Command.sgwirc.com for the euro's and Asgard.sgwirc.com for the North American crowd. This is an all day event for server upgrades. Please note if you are not on one of those two servers during this maintenance, you will be disconnected multiple times. Command.sgwirc.com and Asgard.sgwirc.com updates will follow later in mid-October.

Services Downtime For September
Hello, wanted to make a quick update regarding services on the network. We will be performing maintenance on the service this week [Sept. 17-20, 2008] depending on when user load it the lightest. Downtime expected is about an hour to two hours. :alien:

SGWirc Poll: Open Channel Registration?
Well, it is up to you guys as much of us staff are literally split in half on this doing.
What is open channel registration? Open channel registration is where anyone (including you) can register a channel that you have @op in.
Why open channel registration? Because us staff got split down the middle. So we are allowing YOU to help un-split this issue. Also, it will allow you to register the channel right off the bat rather waiting in #support to get the channel registered. :)
So take a vote at the top right of sgwirc.com's poll!
