The single most attractive thing in games to me is the RARE ability in games to create your own house. With so few games having this inside their game engine, it may be unlikely that they will actually make a sort of housing system but still seems like a great lure to the game.

In the houses you could have all the furnature etc that a normal house has, but also have certain platforms you can make things on eg. a sewing machine so that making your home will not be completly self indulgence in personal happiness but also have positive rewards come out of it.

If people have ideas on what items could be put in homes eg. TV's pls post , you never know having enough interest in this subject in the forums could even get the designers to make it , il put up some objects and edit this post as people reply with more ideas, enjoy

If I have not done brackets after the items name it probably wont have any special effects.

Furnature So Far:

TV (Can have news, weather forcasts,or even hold winners of short clip contest winners that make short toons somehow related to Stargate)

Wardrobe (Hold Clothes, Duh!)

Radio (play in game music or import your own MP3 Files!)

Smelter/Forger etc (Crafting Weapons/Items)

Lanterns/Lights (Specific To Your Race)

Books (Could b incorporated into crafting or somehow work hand in hand with the Daniel Jackson Archetype)

Throne (Goauld)

Filing Cabinets (Hum'es)

Dining Table

Rooms:

Living Room (sit relax and watch T.V )

Library ( Mainly for the Daniel Jackson Archetypes)

Portal Room (Get across the world faster)

Armory (What the hell do you think its for, Kareoke?)

Military (Hum'es)/ Strike Room (Goauld) / Counsol Room (Asgard)

Yeah, that sounds pretty cool! That would be awesome to have in-game : )

sounds reely kewl, but how bout also including a phone/ communication orb/ asgard holographic tech for talking to friends. would be good if that feature allowed voice communication, even if it was a simulated voice for each race/archetype.

Hmmm phne for communicaingvia mikes or typing etc wouldnt really work as you can do that anyway.Maybe as a world chat option, or maybe you cant talk in chat until you finish a mission and aquire a telephone?

that sounds VERY cool heck I'd go for it in a heart beat *perhaps for humans an Arcade that lets them enter a Mini game of their choice * but I think that CME has said time and time again, that although housing is a Great idea, at launch and for at least the near future they will not have player housing *which sucks, cause I loved the system that SWG had *

I like the the idea of creating and having your own home or even better to have your own SGC headquarters for your guild with your own Stargate. I liked having my own house and guild hall on SWG. Was nice to collect furniture, paintings and a good place to store stuff. I wouldn't mine having a Death Glider in the backyard also.

I hope CME keeps it on the wish list.

I loved how SWG had all of the houses and furniture. Spent a hell of a lot of time building furniture and other house hold clutter items.

So far you are listing what we would want on Earth wich is great! But what about on a planet that isnt like earth. A Tv and all that wouldn't fit in on an Abydos like planet. Know what I mean? Planet specific items, like how Tatooine had the Kryat skulls.

Akster, After I typed this out I noticed how you specified some items for each race, my bad. You have SWG in your mind when ya typed that out eh? I agree with what you typed out.

I also loved the housing aspect of SWGalaxies. Wish they'd add something similar in SGW. The only thing I'd change would be to have specific planets for housing, the rest of the planets for questing and pvp only. Mainly because of all the houses in galaxies that were on questing/pvp planets caused so much lag that it really took away a lot of fun for me. The more filled a planet was with housing the more lag, I know on Ahazi if you went to the planet Talus it was so full with housing that rubber banding was the rule not the exception. They tried to fix it by having the decayed house busting week but it didn't really change much. But yes I would enjoy having open world housing that other players can see instead of instanced homes/hotels.

well lag can be resolved with controlled instances...
