Hello all, nice to see we have a good section for rpers here, gonna make the game all the sweeter when it gets out as well.

I'm actually really interested in joining in on the rp goodness and I have a rather interesting Gou'ld character in the works, but I always get stuck on how to introduce a character into the mix. Wonder if anybody would have some pointers on the best way for a poor rper in need. ;_;

Heya Sandman and welcome Always glad to see new RPers join up and excited about the game.

Regarding introducing your Goa'uld...
You could:
- Do as FairyOracle is doing and do somewhat of a backstory in RP threads. Kinda give the reader an idea of the type of person/alien she is: how merciful, ruthless, cold, vindictive, power-mongering, needy (of worship and adoration and loyalty ), etc.
- You could start with the moment of "occupation"... Maybe your Goa'uld killed his last host and hopped to a new host?
- You could start with a kinda story of his rise to minor power at least and his goal to being a System Lord... Or just ruling a planet... or a people...

... or you could just write and just let him come to life on his own w/o preplanning. I do that alot... have a seed of an idea and then just free-write and see how it grows. Edit, shift, rework.. help the character come alive in my mind and so on...

Or... you could just wait until you are IG and start then.

You might want to contact the System Lords guild (they are RP, from what I understand) if you don't have a guild and ask for pointers there as well. They have a site- check 'em out on the Command section.

I'm a Roleplayer, and Im looking forward to rping in a SG universe. As the moment of truth gets closer I'll more than likely work up a character background.

RP really helps make a mmorpg more belivable in being called an mmoRPG.

Oh.. and YYZ- are you one of the GL's of System Lords? or are you just an Officer?

Edit: that might sound like a dumb question, as you are listed as a Manager here... but Blackmatters is listed as C-9's manager here, but he's just a 'founder' and our main website designer/creator... Our GL isn't a member of this site (yet). He's rewiring his computer system, since his old comp room is becoming his new baby's room .
I guess I'm acting GL of Chevron 9 here, since he has me as a Command Leader with him on the 'official' site...
