Apparently we will have to do mini games when crafting like pressing Z and X and C keys in a pattern or something.
Oh oh! Maybe pressing Y and Z in a certain combo will work too!!

...on a serious note... I like all moderators here. *moves on*
I find this information to be relevant.. its from the recent IRC chat that had quite a few devs present.
Question: How have you tried to avoid the monotony that has plagued crafting systems in other games?
Answer: <CME_Aruspex> With Science! Seriously, monotony comes from not feeling like your action is new and unusual. Raph Koster talks about the purpose of a game is to learn and figure out a new activity - once you learn it, you get bored. In Crafting 2.0, we hope to introduce a variety of mini-games and ways to complete items to make it much less monotonous - you can use minigame X OR Y OR Z to complete this item, or all three, or none and brute force it.
Question:Will full time trade-skill characters be a viable choice?
Answer:<CME_Aruspex> I plan on playing one!
...there's more, but full transcript can be found on the SGW main news page. I think all of these things are good... especially the fact that the crafting system seems to have the ability to 'upgrade' itself. This is marvelous.
I plan on crafting, though I dont know how much, I am usually torn between adventure/craft in all MMOs that I have played.
