I'm one of those people that enjoy the benefit of in-game housing. Just one of those things that always seemed to help immerse yourself in the world your playing in. Never was a fan of the lag it can cause, but with a game like stargate worlds the developers could add a certain amount of worlds that are just for putting down your guild structures and housing. Would keep the lag out of the vast majority of other worlds that would be for your questing. I'm just not a fan of the poorly implemented instance type housing that most games use now like eq2. Also something worth mentioning is the idea Conan online has where your guild can collect items to build combat structures to defend in pvp against fellow players. It sounded like a fun idea for a guild whether you enjoy the pve aspect of collecting and finding the parts for your fort/base, or the pvp aspect of defending it and attacking other guilds bases. Something along those lines could be incorporated into SGW nicely. I know CME is looking into adding some unique things for guilds to do, just an example of one guild activity that could be entertaining. Just wondering about anybody else's ideas on this subject matter. Do you like non instanced housing and guild structures? And whats the best way to implement it?

The only exp I have had with player houses or guild structures was in SWG. It worked for that MMO IMO... it was a nice place to drop inventory lol and guild "halls" were nice to meet up and duel and have a guild meeting.... will it be practical in SGW? Not seeing it at launch.... but you never know?

Yeah, I'm not seeing it at launch either. Wouldn't be a bad idea to consider later on though. I like guild options to be as vast as possible. Longevity for MMO's in the end comes down to the community, and guilds are a big part of that. Any special content/additions that involve guilds can never be a bad thing.

Definitely not at launch, they've said as much already. But I really enjoy in game housing in SWG, it's a very fun and diverting thing to do when there aren't enough people around to do stuff. I think it would fit in fairly well, making some sort of Alpha Site thing going on for the SGC a large structure with command posts, barracks, information centers or other things that you can gain as your guild completes certain missions. I know that one of the devs was talking about Guild based things. I always thought that would be a great idea. Actual guild based events with rewards for the guild. That's my 2 cents.

I was a big fan of SWG and was there on the first day of launch, and stayed with it until they totally screwed it up.
Housing was one of the great things that they didn’t foul up, and was one of my favorites of the game. I wouldn’t mind seeing the whole crafting skills thing go in that direction it would add another level to the game.

Build a Guild

A Guild is just an organized group of gamers with a common theme or mission. Guilds should have a Banner Logo (128px) and can be joined three ways...Open (Anyone), Approval (Anyone can apply), Invite (Private Invitation). The benefits to joining or creating your own Guild is proven mmo strategies and better friendships. An organized team with assigned roles is a force to be reckoned with. Read through the different Guild mission statements and if none appeal to your taste create your own Guild. Each Guild group can create bulletins and group emails that will help keep you in sync. Plus you may add your Guild comrades to your profile Connections for a simple buddy list.
