People are obviously cheating. Just have a look on the top 10 of the SGW contest.
And i dont think we have to wait long to see a 999999999999999999999999999 score...

One of my strategies that I use is as follows (mind you this is very time consuming) ... kill all but one big asteroid then sit and wait for the space ships to come ... the big ones are 200 points and the little ones are 1000 points ... to avoid being killed when an asteroid is coming at you press shift ... also you can pause the game by simply pressing p and then come back to it when you have the time ... with a little perseverance and some sharp shooting these high scores can be achieved ...

lol same strategy.

i press p to pause the game. and after days of playing i let me killing.
but if someone uses the same strategie and dont shut down the pc and press pause all the time. i think he will be able to make more than 1.000.000.000 points till the 31. may.

I have had talks with a few high scorers, couple mentioned above. Their strategies do take time...but high scores are possible and legal. That said...there are ways to cheat or fake scores in almost any game...anyone found out will be banned and reported as a cheater. But some have already come clean and told us to delete their scores and have not been banned or reported. We are doing our best to check each high score; but we do not accuse our players of cheating here until we have facts to prove that.

my right leg is broken after an accident. so i am not able to go to work at the moment. so i have enough time to play this game. thats my secret.

I stickied this thread to expose not the gamers that have achieved a high score by creative...not score replacement cheating, but to show the dark age thinking that surfaced. That if someone goes beyond the norm, some people must accuse them of evil intent.

I stand by your score.

okay seems that all scores has been deletet. maybe the best way but now iam a bit sad. because after this long discus about me and my highscore i dont have the energy to play this game again.

I have the final winners list. The contest has ended early because of all the whining and the arcade scores are cleared monthly.
