Ask Your Symbiote Questions 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 15
Why don't the Goa'uld symbiotes just take their Jaffa as their host when they are mature? They already know how to heal that body...seems more dangerous to jump ship to find a new host that may or may not be as compatible.

Re:AskYourSymbioteQuestions Life of the Symbiote 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
The Jaffa are the incubators for the Goa'uld. As the symbiote matures it would take the life of the Jaffa. So they take a new host. The Jaffa get a new symbiote to prolong thier life.

This keeps the Jaffa as warriors and the Goa'uld as ( gods ).

This is what separates the Jaffa and the Goa'uld.
The Jaffa keep their control of thier body, as the symbiote are young.
The Goa'uld are in control of the host body. Eyes glow when focused.

Some Execptions
Symbiote share the body one at a time (Tokra)
Alot of damage to the body
Technology can separate the symbiote control
The host has a stronger will than the symbiote ( No known cases )

Just a heads up
Symbiotes have Queens that pass all knowledge to all thier offspring.

If a symbiote is removed from a host, can that host be reinfected later? Or would it immediately reject the new, intruding symbiote, thereby either preventing 'attachment' or killing the larvae?
That goes for if the symbiote dies while within the host (ala Jolinar w/in Sam)...

if I remember correctly, there was an episode where Sam was temporarily reinfected with a Goa'uld and the only thing that killed it was a drug she took before they put it in her.

if I remember correctly, the modifications to make a human into a Jaffa is so extensive that they are unable to that Jaffa as hosts.
Can't remember where I heard that from, so don't quote me on that.

Yeah, season six episode five. Nightwalkers.
A group of infant goa'ulds has taken over a small city and are making a spaceship to get away from earth and the NID is watching them.
